At the Ivanhoe Community Center, what began as a bare patch of ground is now a vibrant new stage — built by volunteers from NorthPoint and local teens from the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC).
Over just two weeks, the group worked side by side through the summer heat, preparing the site, framing, decking, and installing handrails to ensure the stage was ready in time for Ivanhoe’s annual back-to-school event.
When the weekend arrived, the community gathered to enjoy performances, music, and celebration on a stage built entirely by their own hands — a powerful reminder of what collaboration and service can achieve.
This project represents more than construction. It’s about creating a lasting space where neighbors can come together for performances, celebrations, and shared experiences for years to come.
When we come together, we build more than structures. We build community.
