Our team recently joined partners at Arrow Reload and OmniTRAX to support Blessings in a Backpack during a special volunteer event on Long Island. Together, we packed 3,600 meals that will be distributed to children across the region who are facing food insecurity at home.
For many students, school meals are a consistent source of nutrition during the week. Weekends can be uncertain, and access to nutritious food is not guaranteed. Programs like Blessings in a Backpack play a critical role in filling that gap by providing ready-to-eat meals for children to take home, ensuring they have food when school is not in session.
The event brought together volunteers from across industries and organizations, all working toward one goal: making sure kids have the support they need to grow, learn, and thrive. In true community spirit, the packing event included a friendly competition to see which team could prepare the most meal bags the fastest. We are proud to share that our team took first place, but more importantly, every participant helped make a meaningful impact for local families.
We are grateful to Blessings in a Backpack for their ongoing commitment to fighting childhood hunger, and to our partners at Arrow Reload and OmniTRAX for joining us in this effort. When organizations come together in service, the impact multiplies. That collaboration helped put food directly into the hands of students who need it most.
The NorthPoint Foundation remains dedicated to supporting children and families across the country through hands-on volunteerism, partnerships, and community investment. We look forward to continuing to support organizations like Blessings in a Backpack as they work to ensure every child has access to the nutrition they deserve.
