Our team recently spent two volunteer days serving at Queen City Book Bank in Cincinnati, helping support their work to advance childhood literacy and ensure every child has access to books at home. As the recipient of this year’s Cincinnati Golfer’s Day Out event, Queen City Book Bank continues to make an extraordinary impact by placing books into the hands of students across the region and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
Volunteers rolled up their sleeves and spent time sorting, stickering, organizing, and preparing books for delivery to local classrooms and families. In total, the team stickered more than 1,600 books, assembled 189 boxes for distribution, and supported QCBB staff with packing, shelving, and preparing inventory for future literacy programs. These efforts help ensure that children can bring books home and build personal libraries that spark imagination and support learning beyond the classroom.
As volunteer lead Laura F. shared, “We are so excited to partner with Queen City Book Bank as this year’s Cincinnati Golfer’s Day Out recipient.”
The impact of the support was also felt by the QCBB team, who shared,
“We cannot thank you enough for all your help over the course of both volunteer days. Over 1,600 books stickered, 189 boxes prepared for delivery, dozens of boxes assembled, and numerous more books unpacked, stickered, and shelved. Please pass along our gratitude to your entire team.”
Partnerships like this reinforce what happens when organizations and volunteers come together to serve children and families. A few hours of hands on support can help open doors to learning and opportunity for countless students.
We are grateful to Queen City Book Bank for their inspiring work and for welcoming our team into their mission. The NorthPoint Foundation is proud to stand alongside organizations that champion education, access, and opportunity for every child. We look forward to continuing this partnership and supporting literacy efforts across our communities.
